Project Brief:
Expanding upon the groundwork laid by the 2019, ‘What Women Want” campaign, White Ribbon Alliance, initiated the “Listening Across the Life-Course: Women’s Demands for their Health and Well-being” campaign. Recognizing a broader scope, the campaign acknowledged that women’s needs extend beyond reproductive health. To capture the varied experiences of women, the campaign engaged with 1.3 million women from 14 countries to gather insights into their health and well-being concerns. In Pakistan, The Forum-White Ribbon Alliance Pakistan Chapter, conducted an open-ended inquiry with women and girls, focusing on the question: “What do you want most for your health and well-being?” Through the Forum efforts, 100,000 women were surveyed across Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, uncovering a range of interconnected factors essential to women and girls’ overall well-being. Their demands were transcribed and uploaded into an interactive digital dashboard. Through these insights, it became apparent that women prioritized access to free medicines and healthcare services, hospitals, adequate food and nutrition, education and vocational skills, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). Now, it’s time to translate this call into actionable steps and make their agenda everyone’s agenda. FSM continues to work inorder to ensure that women’s voices are heard and their needs are met.
