Dr Aman Ullah
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Aman Ullah , a public health and development consultant, is currently extending his services to Dalberg Global Development Advisors, the World Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and World Health Organization. A skilled and well-trained professional with more than 25 years’ experience in the public and private health sector, including serving on strategic positions, laid the foundation of White Ribbon Alliance in Pakistan and currently chairs the Forum for Safe Motherhood board. He is also a member of the National Alliance Council. Dr. Aman has championed maternal and newborn health in Pakistan for years, mediating effective policy change, and he has written extensively, including strategy and policy documents, research papers and articles for different audiences, while also representing Pakistan at various global fora.

Javaria Nisar
Assistant National Coordinator
Javaria Nisar is currently serving as an Assistant National Coordinator at Forum for Women Development and Research – White Ribbon Alliance, Pakistan Chapter. Previously, she worked with the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus at the National Assembly of Pakistan as a Research and Communication Officer. Javaria was involved in the Post-Legislative Scrutiny (PLS) program under the Fempower project funded by Global Affairs Canada. She also contributed to the Scottish National Party-Westminster Foundation for Democracy (SNP-WFD) international democracy program promoting accountability and transparency in the legislative processes. Javaria has provided technical and research support to female parliamentarians in various projects within both the Special Committee on Persons with Disabilities and the Standing Committee on Climate Change. She has also worked as a Researcher at the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), covering a wide spectrum of security and development-related subjects. Additionally, she writes for The News, Pakistan Today, and the Daily Times Pakistan. Her research expertise includes addressing the urgency of the climate crisis, gender inclusiveness in political representation, social developmental issues, and human security.

Muhammad Shafiq
Finance & Admin Officer
Muhammad Shafiq is currently working as Finance and Admin Officer at Forum for Women Development & Research. He is a fellow member of ACCA (UK) and CPA (Pakistan). He holds Masters degree in Economics from the University of Peshawar and has over seven years of diverse experience in finance and administration. He has also worked as an Administrative Officer in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), where he managed HR and financial activities at the field level. Moreover, his tenure as a Senior Accountant at the National Logistics Corporation (NLC) shows his strong background in Finance and Budgeting.

Ms Shahnaz Wazir Ali
Madam Shahnaz Wazir Ali is a recipient of Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 2016 for her services to education. She has an illustrious career as an educationist, development policy specialist, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Sector and as a well-known women’s rights activist. From 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996, she had the unique opportunity to serve in key decision making positions in government, in the first term as Federal Minister of State for Education and subsequently, as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Sectors. Her career in and commitment to education can be traced back to 1965, when she commenced teaching primary school children of deprived communities in Karachi, and subsequently spent about 15 years in teaching and administrative positions in the private sector, which included being Principal at the Lahore American School. She is also a Trustee of the Education Trust which runs Nasra Schools for children of low-income families in Karachi and provides K 10 education to more than10,000 students. From 1997-2001, she served as the Senior Education Specialist at the World Bank in Islamabad. Her principal assignment was to provide policy, program and technical advice and assistance to the Federal and the 4 Provincial governments to facilitate the implementation of the countrywide Education Sector Social Action Program (SAP). It was in this period of her career that she was very actively involved in the planning for transforming the concept of an institutionalized National Education Assessment System (NEAS) within the Ministry of Education into a reality, for monitoring and improving the quality of education in Pakistan. Madam Shahnaz Wazir Ali has represented Pakistan at international conferences and as a highly valued speaker for national seminars, forums, conferences on education, health, women development, population, and poverty alleviation. She has been a champion of numerous social causes such as education for all, women’s rights, polio eradication in Pakistan. Currently, she is Provincial Coordinator for the Government of Sindh for all primary health care programs including maternal and child health and Family Planning Programs. She is also the President of the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Sciences and Technology (SZABIST). With a student enrollment of 6500 students, SZABIST has four campuses in different cities of Pakistan including one in Dubai. These two positions reflect her deep, abiding, and long-term commitment to health and education. She is also Board of a number of prestigious national and international organizations, trusts, advisory councils, educational boards, and universities including SZABIST, IBA, LEAD & SPDC. Shahnaz Wazir Alis’ commitment to education and social development has made her an asset to the whole country and we are proud to have her serve as President of SZABIST University.

Dr Tauseef Ahmed
Tauseef Ahmed PhD is a sociologist by education and has actively worked with Government in developing and formulating Population Policies for all provinces of Pakistan. He was the Principal Investigator on Pakistan Maternal Mortality Survey (PMMS) 2019 at the National Institute of Population Studies, Islamabad. Dr. Ahmed, as Principal Investigator to PMMS 2019, was overseeing the project implementation and provides professional technical assistance in training, monitoring, data gathering, and data analysis. Currently, he is Technical Advisor to UNFPA supporting several assignments. As a freelance consultant in the field of family planning and reproductive health Dr Ahmed supports and guides in the development of Task Shifting and Sharing Strategies and Plan of Action for PWD and Health Dept in all provinces. Prior to 2018, he worked as Senior Technical Advisor and also remained as Country Representative of Pathfinder International, Pakistan Office for seven years. He has supervised and managed several innovative projects during 2010-2017 that have direct bearing on family planning Programs and activities in Pakistan. These projects were implemented at the facility and community levels in various districts with close support of the provincial Departments of Health and Population Welfare. These projects tested innovative ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness of public sector services in family planning at the grassroots and at facility level to target low parity mothers and promote birth spacing. Dr Ahmed led team of experts to develop Costed Implementation Plan for Family Planning under his guidance has brought two key Depts closer in understanding and carrying forward FP goals together in all four provinces. Dr. Ahmed was a visiting faculty at Pakistan Institute of Development Economics University teaching Master’s level course in Population Studies in 2008-09. Occasionally, he supported Health Services Academy Islamabad as Visiting Resource Persons. Dr Ahmed is an Executive Council member of Population Association of Pakistan.

Dr Shuaib Khan
Dr. Shuaib Khan has over 32 years of experience in leading, designing, implementing and managing healthcare projects and health systems’ strengthening in both the public and development sectors, including 25 years in the public sector on senior management positions. While working in the development sector, Dr. Khan provided technical support and oversight to partners and government departments in matters pertaining to strategic planning, health systems reforms, human resource development, capacity the building, and integration of services. He has vast experience in establishing mega hospitals, managing tertiary care hospitals and digitalizing hospital functions. He has also developed, implemented and managed strategic communication interventions for integrated health programs, specifically family planning, nutrition, and maternal and child health programs.

Mr Fayyaz Ahmad Khan
FAYYAZ AHMAD KHAN is a long-time communication professional with over 20 years of strong communication experience. He excels at designing and implementing leadership, behavior change, advocacy and community mobilization strategies with a range of public and private sector partners, developing strategically targeted multi-media entertainment-education programs and leading capacity-building activities in media and communication. Mr. Khan has worked with Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Communication Programs since 2001, progressing from a consultant to his most recent position as Country Representative. He is currently serving as Chief of Party for a major communications project in Malawi for the Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Communication Programs. Mr. Khan has pioneered the annual Leadership and Communication Program in Pakistan and has been serving as its co-director since 2001. Besides, he is among selected master trainers who had initiated a self-awareness and motivation leadership program in Pakistan. He has a degree in media and communication from the University of London.

Dr Haris Ahmed
Dr Haris Ahmed, Fellow of Royal Society of Public Health (UK), a medical doctor with master’s in public health. Currently he is Integrated Service Delivery Advisor with Pathfinder International for a DFID funded Public Sector Service Delivery Project. Dr Haris previously was team lead for Sukh Initiative, a multi-donor funded, family planning and reproductive health project. He possesses over twenty years of experience in the delivery of global health provisions to include projects regarding sexual health, family planning, child nutrition, safe water solutions and emergency response action. Before joining Aman Health, he worked for 4 years as Director Programs with Pathfinder International. During this time, he designed and successfully implemented projects that are now being scaled up by provincial governments, especially the functional integration model for the two, health and population welfare, departments in Punjab and Sindh. Haris has also worked with JHU-CCP, Greenstar Social Marketing Pakistan (an affiliate of PSI) and Save the Children US. He is the founder and executive council member of White Ribbon Alliance Pakistan and has international publications to his credit.

Dr Nabeela Ali
Dr. Nabeela Ali brings 34 years of experience working with both the government and non-government (NGO and private) sectors for effective health programming in Pakistan. As an expert in public health and systems strengthening for RMNCH and Global Health Security. She has conceptualized large projects and programs and ensured successful implementation. Dr. Ali has worked at all four levels of health systems from federal, provincial to district and community level. She is a well-respected public health leader and practitioner. She has helped design national maternal, newborn and child health policies and strategies for national and provincial health departments, and has planned and implemented complex, highly successful public health programs considered as USAID flagship programs in Pakistan. Dr. Ali is recognized globally for her contributions in generating evidence for policy and design programs for poor and marginalized in Pakistan such as Chlorhexidine (CHX) for newborns cord care. A clinician and a public health expert, Dr. Ali holds both an MD/MBBS and an MPH. Dr. Ali is a proud mother of two sons and a daughter and is based in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Dr Naeem ud Din Mian
Dr. Mian is an international consultant having vast experience in the field of public health planning and management by visiting number of countries like Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and United Kingdom to study health systems. He headed foreign assisted Special Projects, Department of Health, and Government of Punjab, as Executive Director and developed Long Term Plan (10 years) for Health Sector Reforms. He developed and successfully implemented multi-million dollar public health projects. He represents Pakistan in front of many international health forums. Presently playing a lead role as Health Specialist and CEO Contech International, struggling to contribute significantly to meet MDG Goal 4,5, and 6 by working in rural areas of Pakistan. Recently, lead the team, which provided technical assistance for Development of Health Sector Strategy for Punjab, 2012. Due to rich experience, competency and health planning skills enjoying honor to be a member of various health forums and groups, provincial Committee for Improving Health Service Delivery, Chairman, Pakistan Standards Committee on Hospitals & Health Facilities under PSCQA, Ministry of Science & Technology Government of Pakistan. Dr Farid Midhet

Dr Yasmeen Qazi
Dr. Yasmeen Qazi is a Medical Doctor with a vast experience in public health field. She has received management trainings from New York, Australia and Germany. She is a well-known Reproductive Health Expert in the country and has remained an active Advocate for women’s health issues through her association with civil societies and Development Partners for more than 28 years. She has served as an Expert on Task Forces of various policies and programs and work closely with Donors and NGOs on Reproductive Health matters, in country and internationally. She has served as Senior Country Advisor for the David and Lucile Packard Foundation for more than 17 years. She has been associated with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation since 2015, first as Senior Technical Consultant and now as Senior Advocacy Consultant on Family Planning. She received special Award from Sindh Government on account of “extraordinary work for social development” (2004). She was invited to deliver a speech in British Parliament on “Status of Maternal Health in Pakistan”, (2004). A noted achievement is Prime Minister Performance Award to Packard Foundation under her leadership (2009). Some other achievements include; Recipient of Ladies Fund Women Award for her groundbreaking work, by Dawood Global Foundation (2013); invitation as an Expert Speaker by Dutch Government to talk on “Islam and Family Planning” (Hague, May 2014); Part of Government Delegation to UN by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012 & 2014) ; Chosen as one of the 50 Women Leaders in country by British Council in WoW – Women of World initiative; Invited as Speaker in Woodrow Wilson Centre in Washington DC on Pakistan Population Issues; chosen as top 15 women leaders in Health by Punjab Government; invited in Chief Ministers’ Population Task Forces by Governments of Punjab and Sindh. She is a Board Member of PPIF- Punjab Population Innovation Fund, established by Government of Punjab. She has recently been honored to be listed in top 100 Women Leaders in Global Health in Pakistan.

Dr Shazad Ali Khan

Dr Masood Abbasi
Dr. Masood Ahmed Abbasi is a leading public-sector reform expert, with over 27 years of experience in building institutional capacity to improve public sector delivery, monitoring and evaluation. This includes 10 years as a National Level Team Leader and key expert on donor funded international projects; 5 years as Provincial Lead implementing and overseeing donor funded projects; and, 12 years as a civil servant in Pakistan. Dr. Abbasi achieved a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Health Services Academy, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad Pakistan in 1999 and Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from University of Sindh in 1988. His career exhibits a good mix of working in the public and private sectors in both humanitarian and development settings. His most recent job was as Nutritionist with the United Nations World Food Program (UN WFP). Dr. Abbasi has experience working with Save the Children, UNICEF and WHO in the areas of Maternal, Newborn, Child Health & Nutrition, Family Planning, Health System Strengthening, Advocacy, and Project Management that includes program development, planning, and implementation. He has worked with Ministry of Health for almost 12 years at district level and has executed primary health care assignments.

Dr Asma Badar
Dr Asma Badar has been associated with the development sector for over 20 years. Dr. Badar has experience in programme development, quality and management, report writing, evidence based policy advocacy and campaigning, for maternal, newborn and child health & nutrition, adolescent’s health & nutrition, non-communicable disease prevention & health promotion and older people’s health & nutrition. Dr Badar has experience of heading Projects; Community Based Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Projects (DFID and DFATD), Saving Newborn Lives Project (Gates Foundation), Maternal Nutrition (Gates Foundation), Respectful Maternity Care (USAID HP+) Adolescents Nutrition Project (WB SAFANSI) at Heartfile, Save the Children, HelpAge International, White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood and Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition respectively. Worked in Flood Response 2010-11 and is trained in Sphere Standards. Master Trainer for IYCF and Helping Babies Survive. Worked on projects funded by UNICEF and WHO and Public Private Partnerships (Government’s first PP PC1 on NCDs). Provided technical input to Advocacy and Communication Strategy (Anemia Prevention Messages) for Large Scale Food Fortification Program (FFP) developed by Mott MacDonald and NI. Was involved in clinical and epidemiological researches and Secondary Reviews at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Heartfile, Save the Children and GAIN respectively. A great advocate of life course approach, cross thematic integration, tapping unconventional partners and exploring innovative solutions. Dr Shabina Raza
As the Country Director for Nutrition International Pakistan, Dr. Shabina Raza provides strategic, technical and operational guidance to Nutrition International Pakistan’s programs, including project development, finances, donor relations and human resources. She also leads advocacy work with key stakeholders, including government, donors and partners, with the aim to help bring about policy changes to improve the nutritional status of the population of Pakistan.Dr. Raza, MS, MBBS and Post Graduate in Health Planning & Management, is an accomplished public health specialist with expertise in reproductive health, maternal, neonatal and child health (RMNCH) & nutrition, service delivery, policy development, human resources management and health systems strengthening. She has over 25 years of professional experience in senior positions within the Department of Health of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.Dr. Raza has been the Chairperson of the Reproductive Health Core Group and Provincial Technical Coordinating Committee on RH/FP and has been elected as the Executive Member of the Population Association of Pakistan. Throughout her career, she has provided significant technical inputs in the design and implementation of health sector projects as well as demonstrated an assertive stewardship role towards ensuring implementation of agreed policies. A strong leader, Dr. Raza possesses excellent communication skills.

Dr Asmatullah
Over the last 25 years, Dr Asmatullah has served as international humanitarian aid and developmental professional with inter-disciplinary and sector-wide technical, managerial and consulting expertise. He designed, monitored, evaluated and managed large-scale sector-wide programmes and led implementation of an array of research initiatives in around 15 countries in South/South-East Asia, West Africa, East Africa and Middle East. A large proportion of this extensive experience has been dedicated to Health System Strengthening (HSS), Reproductive Health (RH), Child Survival, Maternal/Child Nutrition, Communicable Diseases and Surveillance/M&E systems. He led sector-wide programme strategies development and initiated transformative agenda including system developments and managing change to best fit programme’s needs. He coordinated multiple knowledge dissemination forums and actively participated in INGOs/UN/Donor/ ministerial led thematic working groups. He has in-depth understanding of the UN cluster approach and contributed in defining health, nutrition and WASH clusters. He has contributed at large in shaping UN clusters strategic directions including developing information systems, undertaking reviews, developing contingency plans and rolling out a standardized services package to promote health & nutrition, particularly evidence-based RH initiatives, in humanitarian and transitional contexts.

Dr Ayesha Babar Kawish
Dr. Ayesha Babar Kawish is a medical doctor and a Public health specialist. She initially worked as clinical practitioner for a decade from 1994 reaching out to community at household level with special focus on women and children in areas around Rawalpindi,Sialkot,Quetta and Gilgit. Health education sessions were a regular feature in villages around Gilgit and Hunza, Haripur and Kohat. This experience motivated her to pursue Public health working closely with health care providers and lay people. In addition she has dedicated her self in academics from 2005 working in Foundation Medical college Rawalpindi, CMH Lahore Medical College and Khyber Medical University institute of medical sciences Kohat conducting lectures, community MNCH projects,screening camps and health advocacy campaigns.Her participation in National and International Public Health conferences, seminars and capacity building workshops has polished her into a seasoned Public Health Professional. Dr. Ayesha is also reviewer of many medical and public health journals. She is a PhD Public Health Scholar with Quaid-i-Azam University, paper setter and examiner in various undergraduate and post graduate medical universities. Dr. Ayesha since 2013 is working in Al-Shifa School of Public Health as Associate professor and Head of Department. She is working closely with various institutes like Sustainable developmental policy institute with special focus on maternal and child health, inequities in health, leadership and reproductive rights. Sun Academia and Nutrition international with focus on maternal and adolescent nutrition. Allama iqbal open university for training the trainers in research methodology. Safe motherhood alliance on the quality of care improvement around child birth by inculcating Respectful maternity care. With MONHSRC and UNICEF for training the trainers for newborn care. During PhD course work was attached with Health Policy Think Tank with Ministry of National Health Services and Regulation, Islamabad. Dr. Ayesha believes that sustained ,across the board efforts involving women and health care level facilities can generate evidence based approaches which in turn will create desirable awareness and acceptance of priorities in health, improved quality of maternal and newborn services in presence of equity and respect.

Dr Qudsia Uzma
Dr. Qudsia Uzma is a medical professional with public health training. She has worked for more than 11 years including with the public sector and the UN. Dr. Uzma is currently working as the National Professional Officer RMNCAH at World Health Organization (WHO). Previously, Dr. Qudsia served as the Director Health and Nutrition at Save the Children Pakistan country office for several years. Dr. Uzma has provided technical lead in developing various winning proposals and possesses excellent analytical and report writing skills.

Dr Ghazala Mehmud
Dr. Ghazala is working as the Head of department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Fazia Medical College, Islamabad. She graduated in 1976 and obtained a Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists,, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in 1999. She is currently engaged in establishing a new Hospital and Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Fazaiah Medical College, Air University Islamabad, Pakistan.She served as a member to the technical advisory group “Abortion Study” by the Population Council, Women’s Health Project (WHP) from 2002 to 2007, and Maternal newborn and child health from 2008 to 2012.From 2007 to 2014, she was a member of the WHO EMRO-AFRO regional advisory panel for research in reproductive health. Since 2014, she has been on the International Health Regulations Roster of Experts. She has travelled widely to attend various seminars, conferences and represented the Government of Pakistan at various international forums. She has written 64 publications, she is the author of four books published in Indian/Oxford Text books, the resource person for local maternal health information pamphlets, and the Emergency Obstetrics and Newborn Care Manual for national training since 2007. She has won awards for outstanding research, two gold medals for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and an Honorary Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.

Dr. Rabia Noor has about 14 years’ experience of initiating and delivering persistent outcomes in health industry. Major expertise lies in planning and leading multi-functional teams to manage significant reforms and development in strategy, approach, and productivity. A public health consultant with proficiency in public health, management, planning, policy, and social development. She has worked in International, national, and private sectors like UNHCR, Health Department of Government of KP, National and International Organisations. She has achieved Advanced Master of Health Management Planning and Policy from Nuffield Institute, UK. Apart from medicine studies she has also done Master of Public Health, MA, and BSc. She initially worked as a clinical practitioner and then in UNHCR CAR reaching out to community at domestic level with particular emphasis on women and children in areas in and around tribal areas (Merged areas) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This experience inspired her to take up Public Health to work closely with healthcare providers and lay people. In addition, she had committed herself in academics working in Women Medical College, in Department of Medical Education and Community Medicine conducting lectures. She has been doing community projects, screening camps and health advocacy campaigns. Her participation in National and International Public Health conferences, seminars and capacity building workshops has refined her into an experienced Public Health Professional. Working as Founder and CEO of Stellar & Ray she has campaigned health awareness to women in KP, Pakistan. Health awareness sessions are a regular feature in remote villages and towns in and around Hazara region. She has written and has been continuously writing broadly, comprising strategy and policy, research papers and articles for diverse audiences. Dr Riaz Hussain Solangi
Dr. Riaz Hussain Solangi is a medical doctor with post-graduation in both ‘Public Health’ and ‘Management’. Currently, he is based in Islamabad, Pakistan and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and works with the Governments, United Nations, and other organizations/companies as a Consultant in the areas of ‘Public Health and Management’. Also, he has remained in long-term employment as i) Chief Executive of Islamabad based private consulting company named ‘Solutions for Sustainable Development Initiatives (Pvt.) Limited’, ii) Country Director of White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood for Pakistan, iii) National Program Manager with the Nutrition International for Pakistan, and iv) Lead Consultant/Technical Advisor/Expert with UN and other several renowned and well-reputed organizations. He is also involved in teaching undergraduate and post-graduate students in the area of ‘Public Health’. Fatima Shahryar is an aspiring professional who after graduation in 2009 had excelled in leaps and bounds. She is currently working as the Communications Officer with UNICEF. She started her career with a USAID-funded project Pakistan Initiative for Mothers and Newborns as Program Officer for social and behavior change communication. Ayesha Pervaiz is a dedicated microbiologist, public health expert, and passionate women activist with extensive experience in diagnostics and public health. Ayesha holds an MPhil in Microbiology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Microbiology at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, and an MS in Public Health at Health Services Academy, Islamabad. Dr Tauseef Ahmed
Tauseef Ahmed PhD is a sociologist by education and has actively worked with Government in developing and formulating Population Policies for all provinces of Pakistan. He was the Principal Investigator on Pakistan Maternal Mortality Survey (PMMS) 2019 at the National Institute of Population Studies, Islamabad. Dr. Ahmed, as Principal Investigator to PMMS 2019, was overseeing the project implementation and provides professional technical assistance in training, monitoring, data gathering, and data analysis. Currently, he is Technical Advisor to UNFPA supporting several assignments. As a freelance consultant in the field of family planning and reproductive health Dr Ahmed supports and guides in the development of Task Shifting and Sharing Strategies and Plan of Action for PWD and Health Dept in all provinces. Prior to 2018, he worked as Senior Technical Advisor and also remained as Country Representative of Pathfinder International, Pakistan Office for seven years. He has supervised and managed several innovative projects during 2010-2017 that have direct bearing on family planning Programs and activities in Pakistan. These projects were implemented at the facility and community levels in various districts with close support of the provincial Departments of Health and Population Welfare. These projects tested innovative ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness of public sector services in family planning at the grassroots and at facility level to target low parity mothers and promote birth spacing. Dr Ahmed led team of experts to develop Costed Implementation Plan for Family Planning under his guidance has brought two key Depts closer in understanding and carrying forward FP goals together in all four provinces. Dr. Ahmed was a visiting faculty at Pakistan Institute of Development Economics University teaching Master’s level course in Population Studies in 2008-09. Occasionally, he supported Health Services Academy Islamabad as Visiting Resource Persons. Dr Ahmed is an Executive Council member of Population Association of Pakistan.

Dr Nabeela Ali
Dr. Nabeela Ali brings 34 years of experience working with both the government and non-government (NGO and private) sectors for effective health programming in Pakistan. As an expert in public health and systems strengthening for RMNCH and Global Health Security. She has conceptualized large projects and programs and ensured successful implementation. Dr. Ali has worked at all four levels of health systems from federal, provincial to district and community level. She is a well-respected public health leader and practitioner. She has helped design national maternal, newborn and child health policies and strategies for national and provincial health departments, and has planned and implemented complex, highly successful public health programs considered as USAID flagship programs in Pakistan. Dr. Ali is recognized globally for her contributions in generating evidence for policy and design programs for poor and marginalized in Pakistan such as Chlorhexidine (CHX) for newborns cord care. A clinician and a public health expert, Dr. Ali holds both an MD/MBBS and an MPH. Dr. Ali is a proud mother of two sons and a daughter and is based in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Dr. Azra Ahsan is a graduate of Dow Medical College, Karachi. She has received postgraduate training in the UK and secured membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians &Gynecologists (RCOG), UK. She has since earned a Fellowship of the RCOG. She currently works as a consultant obstetrician & gynecologist in a tertiary hospital of Karachi. She has rich and varied experience, having worked in UK, North Africa, the Middle East and Pakistan. She has a keen interest in Public Health and through her work at the National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH), she has overseen and implemented many interventions on Reproductive Health, including Emergency Obstetric & Newborn Care (EmONC), Post Abortion Care (PAC) and Family Planning. She works as Vice President and Technical Consultant to NCMNH and is also the President of the Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN), an NGO working for Maternal and Newborn health. She is a member of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Pakistan (SOGP) and an honorary member of the Midwifery Association of Pakistan (MAP). She was instrumental in spearheading a project on PAC in Pakistan, in collaboration with Ipas, during which Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA) and Misoprostol for PAC (both being WHO recommended technologies) was introduced in Pakistan for the first time. She has also led the Post-Partum Family Planning (PPFP) initiative in Pakistan by initiating an intervention on Post-Partum Intra Uterine Contraceptive Device (PPIUCD) and demonstrated that it is a safe and effective method for FP. She has many publications to her credit, including the EmONC manual in Urdu & English. She has been involved in reviewing the Verbal Autopsy Questionnaires during the Maternal Mortality Survey conducted by National Institute of Population Studies (NIPS). She is/has been a member of many steering committees and task forces, including the task force on population in Sindh.

Dr. Yasmeen Qazi is a Medical Doctor with a vast experience in public health field. She has received management trainings from New York, Australia and Germany. She is a well-known Reproductive Health Expert in the country and has remained an active Advocate for women’s health issues through her association with civil societies and Development Partners for more than 28 years. She has served as an Expert on Task Forces of various policies and programs and work closely with Donors and NGOs on Reproductive Health matters, in country and internationally. She has served as Senior Country Advisor for the David and Lucile Packard Foundation for more than 17 years. She has been associated with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation since 2015, first as Senior Technical Consultant and now as Senior Advocacy Consultant on Family Planning. She received special Award from Sindh Government on account of “extraordinary work for social development” (2004). She was invited to deliver a speech in British Parliament on “Status of Maternal Health in Pakistan”, (2004). A noted achievement is Prime Minister Performance Award to Packard Foundation under her leadership (2009).
